“As member of parliament, please don’t speak without facts. Show how PAS is a tool of DAP and PKR. To the Malays, this is what being said. To the non-Malays, (it is claimed that) DAP is a puppet of PAS,” sniped Nik Aziz in a short statement today.
Tajuddin, campaigning for the Kuala Besut by-election, had accused PAS of being subservient to DAP, and even claimed that Malaysia would turn into a republic led by DAP chairman Karpal Singh as its president if Pakatan Rakyat came to power.
Lim described Tajuddin’s remark as reckless, saying it was sign of desperation among UMNO leaders in a losing battle against the “informed, intelligent and discerning electorate throughout the country.”
“Tajuddin was doing his worst in spouting the most irresponsible and reckless form of extremism in the Kuala Besut by-election,” Lim said, saying the remarks were total mockery and disrespect to the holy month of Ramadan.
