Prisoners' families remember their sons in Israeli jails

The Director of Waed, Tawfiq Abu-Naem, told the gathering that Israel aggression against Palestinian prisoners has increased since the start of Ramadhan.
The Waed Organisation for Prisoners and Former Prisoners organised on Monday an Iftar (fast-breaking meal) in front of the Red Cross headquarters in Gaza for the families of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails. Hundreds of people attended the now annual event, which is supported by the Qatar Charity.

The Iftar is aimed at raising the issue of the Palestinian prisoners and to remind the Red Cross and the world about their suffering. Prisoners' children are affected particularly badly by the absence of their fathers during the fasting month of Ramadhan.

The Director of Waed, Tawfiq Abu-Naem, told the gathering that Israel aggression against Palestinian prisoners has increased since the start of Ramadhan. The Israeli prison service, it is alleged, tries to undermine prisoner's worship programmes.

Abu-Naem said that the health of Jordanian prisoners, who have been on hunger strike for about 80 days, is now in a very grave state. "It is going from bad to worse," he said. He called for international protection for them before it is too late.

The mother of prisoner Jamal al-Nouri recited a humble supplication at the Iftar calling upon the Almighty to bring the day closer that the prisoners are released. Four newly-released prisoners were honoured before the meal. - See more at: http://www.middleeastmonitor.com/news/middle-east/6603-prisoners-families-remember-their-sons-in-israeli-jails#sthash.JmUkSlxL.dpuf
