IPOH: A petrol station operator was robbed in broad daylight by armed robbers while on his way to a bank to deposit RM50,000 yesterday.

The 12.20pm incident happened in front of a tyre shop in Taman Medan, Bercham here.
The 38-year-old victim was alone at the time of the incident.
State police chief Datuk Mohd Shukri Dahlan said the victim left the Petronas petrol station in Becham about noon and headed towards the bank to deposit the cash.
He said that as soon as the victim arrived at the parking lot in front of the tyre shop, a silver coloured Proton Waja stopped abruptly in front of him.
"Four well-built men, all wearing masks, sunglasses, gloves and long sleeve shirts, got down from the car and pointed what was believed to be a pistol at the victim.
"The victim immediately threw away the backpack containing the cash and ran into the shop for safety," he said.
The suspects then used a parang to shatter the driver's-side window and fled with the money.
Shukri said the case was being investigated under Section 395 and 397 of the Penal Code for gang robbery and armed robbery.
Shukri said police were on the hunt for the four suspects.
No arrests has been made so far.
